Several years ago when attending a concert in the California Mountains, the musicians were lit with Magenta and Cyan lighting from opposing sides. In the dark, strange magenta and blue green shapes leapt off the musicians and their contorted stances. The mental images and colors still haunt me! I tackled the idea of a series having no prior experience with painting people. Some 80 paintings were made in that series, some of which never saw the light of day. That series, though, ushered in a deluge of learning and offered so many opportunities to express emotions with color and shape. I doubt this series will ever be complete . . .it calls to me often.
